As people age, they often become isolated. They are less willing to meet new people, stay in more, and drive less.
Everybody has an activity they love to do whether it's playing cards, going to lunch, or visiting the local museum. As your parent(s) age, they stop doing these activities - either due to lack of capabilities or due to their energy levels.
Research by the AARP has shown that the health impact of social isolation is equal to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. So, while it may seem like your parent doesn't need any more help, the benefits of increased activity and social interaction can't be overstated.
Whether you're using Onward for transportation to their favorite activity, or to and from dialysis, we're here to make sure transportation isn't a barrier to care.
